The above quote is the first line of my big re-write. In some ways, it’s going well, and in other ways, it’s not. More than any other piece I’ve written since my MPhil, I just can’t get into the groove of this one. I’ve only got 4 lines left to re-write, but every time I do something with them, I have another idea, and suddenly, all my previous ideas seem moronic and useless. I have a general shape of how I want it to go, but getting it down is like pulling teeth. I was going to focus on this movement all next week, but the imposter syndrome is growing, so I might put it away for a couple of days and focus on orchestrating the second movement.
